Join me for Group Therapy

If you’ve been feeling isolated in your healing journey, unsure why certain patterns keep showing up, or wondering if anyone else truly understands what you’re going through, group therapy may be a powerful next step.

Groups offer something unique: the chance to grow and heal in community. Whether as a complement to individual therapy or a resource on their own, groups provide support, perspective, and connection with others who “get it.”

As a facilitator, my mission is to create a space that balances safety with supportive challenge—a place where vulnerability is welcomed and reflective change can unfold.

See below for current and upcoming group offerings, or reach out if you’d like to learn more about how group therapy might support you.

Current and Upcoming Groups

Entering the world of parenthood comes with a host of challenges and uncertainties. Add LGBTQ+ identity to the mix, especially given the current political realities threatening queer livelihood, and the journey is even more complicated.

This 8-week, virtual therapy group is a space to step away from the noise of how parenting is “supposed” to look and step into an authentic and honest experience of this next chapter in your life. In this group you will have a chance to unpack unhelpful narratives around identity and family building, relish in the queer joy of your growing family, and connect with a supportive community of peers.

This group is open to anyone who identifies as LGBTQ+ and recently welcomed a little one into their lives or are currently expecting - whether through adoption, fostering, IVF, IUI, or unassisted conception. Individuals can join on their own or alongside their parenting partner(s).

Dates: Weekly on Mondays - April 13th - June 11th, 2026

Time: 11:00am - 12:00pm

Location: Zoom

Fee: $50 - $125 per session (need-based sliding scale, eligible for insurance reimbursement)

“Helping professionals”—those in healthcare, education, social services, and beyond—often navigate high-stress environments day after day. Burnout can take many forms: feeling exhausted, unmotivated, overwhelmed, unable to rest, or withdrawing from others.

If this resonates, I invite you to join me on September 6th in Staten Island’s beautiful Silver Lake Park for an outdoor therapeutic gathering designed to ease stress, nurture self-care, and reconnect you with the joy of your work. Together, we’ll engage in gentle mindfulness and art-based activities to support emotional renewal and connection with peers who dedicate their lives to helping others.

You can register by emailing emiliekpsychotherapy@gmail.com or on Eventbrite by clicking here.

I offer tailored short-term and single session groups for organizations, schools, and businesses. Group themes include:

  • grief and loss

  • stress reduction

  • secondary traumatic stress and compassion fatigue
