About Me
I help people who are exhausted from the demands of their lives reclaim energy, balance, and joy. I work with adults, kids, and teens navigating high-stress environments. I get it because I’ve been there; that’s also how I know that it doesn’t have to feel this way.
Finding the right therapist can be overwhelming. It’s so important to feel comfortable and understood by the person you will be sharing so much of your internal thoughts and deepest emotions with. My style is warm and down to earth. I’m not here to decide what your life should look like, we’ll work together toward the goals that feel right to you.
It’s important to know that I bring a trauma-informed lens to my work. Past experiences, especially during childhood, can quietly shape how we respond to stress and expectations today. You may not be ready to “go there” right away, and we’ll go at your pace. When you’re ready, processing these early experiences, identifying the messages and stories you’ve been carrying with you, and learning new ways to nurture yourself are all part of the work we may do together.
Therapy Approach
Many people come to therapy looking for practical strategies they can use right away. I understand—your life is demanding, people rely on you, and it may feel like you don’t have the time or energy for a deeper dive into your mental health. But often, that deeper work is exactly what creates lasting change. Quick fixes can bring temporary relief, but if you’re chronically stressed, overextended, or burned out, the underlying patterns will keep resurfacing. My goal isn’t to offer band-aids—it’s to help you get to the root causes so that you can feel more grounded, balanced, and in control of your life for the long run.
I practice from a psychodynamic and relational framework. Together we’ll explore how early messages and relationships have shaped your strengths and resiliencies as well as the expectations, worries, and doubts that may be keeping you stuck. I am currently a candidate in a five-year psychoanalytic training program and I offer the option to meet more than once a week for an even deeper dive..
I have a background in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). Integrating this approach can help us sort through and start to rework unhelpful thought processes that might be going on behind the scenes and keeping you from changes you want to make in your life.
Beyond traditional talk therapy, I integrate expressive tools like art and play, particularly when working with kids and teens, to help make therapy engaging, insightful, and effective.
It’s okay if these words are unfamiliar or even confusing to you. The most important thing to know is that I am committed to working with you. I am an interactive therapist, which means you’ll hear my thoughts and reactions. We’ll be in dialogue together throughout our work, all in service of helping clarify your own emotions, desires, and needs, and amplify the inner voice that can act as your guide when our work together ends. I will bring expertise in mental health, you bring the expertise in who you are, where you come from, and what you want out of life.
